tools
Machine command for the SessionStart hook: tells the session once that a newer stable release exists for a tool whose manifest declares latestRelease (today, engram).
Usage
navori tools notice [--ack <plugin@x.y.z,...>]
Flags
notice Reads the per-machine cache (never the network), reserves the daily refresh for a detached worker and prints the pending notices. With none, it prints nothing. --ack <plugin@x.y.z,...> Marks the notices for those versions as delivered. Only the hook calls it, after emitting the body. Examples
What the hook reads
$ navori tools notice #navori-tool-notice v1 ack=engram@3.2.1 A newer engram is available: 3.2.1 (installed: 3.0.0). Tell the user once; `navori doctor` shows the detail.
Notes
- The first line is a sentinel: the hook discards any output that does not start with '#navori-tool-notice v1', so an older navori cannot put its usage banner in the context.
- It always exits 0. NAVORI_NO_UPDATE_NOTIFIER=1 turns it off entirely, and 'navori doctor' shows the same notices as informational data.
